How Miss Lady Bird Changed America
A new play by Holly Hepp-Galvan
based on the book by Kathi Appelt
Growing up in Texas, Lady Bird adores the colorful nature surrounding her. With the love and support of her mother, she learns all about native plants. When her mother dies unexpectedly, Lady Bird finds herself not knowing how to fulfill her promise to make everything more beautiful. From her personal loss grows strength and a vision to beautify the nation for everyone. Playwright Holly Hepp-Galvan bases this play on the popular children’s book Miss Lady Bird’s Wildflowers by Kathi Appelt, illustrated by Joy Fisher Hein. “Where flowers
bloom, so does hope.”
